Alla Kudryavtseva defeated 3th seed Maria Sharapova 6-2 6-4
"Sharapova, the ladies' number three seed, made a series of unforced errors in the first set to hand it to Kudryavtseva 6-2. It was no better for Sharapova in the second as her fellow Russian took it 6-4 with this forehand winner. This was the biggest upset so far for the 154-ranked Kudryavtseva. Next up for Kudryavtseva is China's Shuai Peng in the third round."
