Jelena Jankovic has revealed she is aiming to recover fully from her arm problem and focus on Wimbledon after her French Open defeat.
Jelena, who beat Maria Sharapova over three sets in last year's final, has decided to rest the forearm problem that hampered her in the French Open.
The Serbian star narrowly missed out on a place in her first grand slam final when she crashed to a 6-4 3-6 6-4 semi-final defeat against fellow compatriot Ana Ivanovic at Roland Garros in Paris on Thursday.
"I have two weeks to get ready for Wimbledon," she said.
"I will go there a couple of days before to train on grass.
"Mainly now it's important for me to get healthy - to recover my arm. I will take a few days off and have some treatment, and start preparing again for a new surface."
The withdrawal is a blow to DFS organisers who learned a few days ago that Maria Sharapova will not be attending the Edgbaston Priory tournament for the first time in five years.
