American Bob Bryan and Belarussian Victoria Azarenka won the mixed doubles final with a 6-2 7-6 win over top seeds Katarina Srebotnik and Nenad Zimonjic.
The win would have provided some consolation for Bryan after he had been knocked out of the men's doubles with twin brother Mike in the quarter-finals.
"I want to thank my partner, it has been so much fun playing with him," said Azarenka, who lost to Svetlana Kuznetsova in the fourth round of the singles.
Nenad Zimonjic, however, will have the opportunity to make up for the loss when he contests the men's doubles final with Daniel Nestor against Pablo Cuevas and Luis Horna on Saturday.
"Congratulations and good luck for tomorrow," Bryan said.
Zimonjic and Slovenia's Srebotnik had won the title here together in 2006.
