Second seed Novak Djokovic and fourth seed Andy Roddick were both beaten in the third round of the AEGON Championships.
Andy Roddick, the four-time former champion, was defeated by Dudi Sela 6-4, 7-6(8).
"I played very well," said Sela. "I thought that I didn't serve well, but after the match my coach told me that I served 14 aces, so for me it's really good."
"He played great," admitted Roddick. "Credit to him. I think he had a very specific game plan, and I thought he executed it very well and never dug himself a hole on any service games, never had any sloppy errors.
"I think I could have done some things differently, but I thought he played a pretty perfect match. I've played worse at this tournament before and gotten through and won it before. I feel fine about the way I'm hitting the ball and constructing points."
Sela will next meet German Rainer Schuettler.
Novak Djokovic was upset by Xavier Malisse in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Djokovic continues to struggle with his serve and consistency this season.
It is the first time since Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, that Djokovic has failed to reach the quarter-finals of an ATP World Tour event.
Malisse next will face Sam Querrey, who defeated Marcel Granollers 6-4, 7-6(5) in 70 minutes.
