She won and she smiles again! It's so good to see her like this! Ana Ivanovic beat Alisa Kleybanova, 6-3, 6-2, Monday night in the first round, ending a two-match losing streak to the 26th-ranked Russian.
"I'm really happy to see the things I've been working on in the past month show on the court," Ivanovic said. "I was getting to every ball and managed to keep the rallies going so I didn't have to pull the trigger too early. Alisa is a tough opponent and this is probably her best surface, so I'm very happy with the victory today."
I wish her luck in the next round and I hope we'll see Ana smiling more often now!

Never expected Ana would win this match. Alisa clearly overpowered Ana in their last two matches this 2010 (one in Fed Cup second rubber and one in French Open second round). You know, if Ana thinks and feels she can win and put everything she learned in training, impossibility is nothing no matter who her opponent is. Of course, Ana still has to learn how to be more confident and more patient with her shotmaking and this win against Kleybanova is an impressive start, right?
I think it's a great start for her. And I really think everything is in hear head. I was watching her at Wimbledon and Roland Garros, she didn't have confidence at all, she looked like some beginner on the court.
And as you said, if she thinks in her head that she can win, I agree with you that she can win no matter who her opponent is.
