Martina Hingis has been unveiled today as the star name of this year's Nottingham Tennis Masters. She will be among the other ex-professional stars who will compete in the tournament, which will be held at the Nottingham Tennis Centre in June.
Hingis became the youngest player to win a Grand Slam, winning the women's doubles title at Wimbledon at the age of 15 in 1995. She was also the youngest World No. 1 of all time.
She won 43 single and 36 doubles titles on the WTA-tour as well as five grand slam titles in total, three at the Australian Open and one each at Wimbledon and the US Open. She was the World No. 1 for a total of 209 weeks in between 1997 and 2001. She became only the third women to top the World ranking in both the singles and the doubles.
Hingis originally retired from tennis in 2003 but launched a comeback before retiring for a second time in in 2008 after being found guilty of a doping offence in 2007.
She said: "I have great memories of my time in England and at Wimbledon and I'm really excited."
