Ana Ivanovic, who had reached the finals of Indian Wells the past two years, was defeated by Anastasija Sevastova 6-2, 6-4 in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open. According to Sony Ericsson WTA Tour officials, this defeat will drop her out of the top 50.
Ivanovic, who had hired Steffi Graf's former coach Heinz Gunthardt prior to Indian Wells, was positive before the match and thought things were going well.
“You know in New York I played really well,” Ivanovic said about an exhibition prior to Indian Wells. “So I was very excited about that, but he had said as well it's not going to happen overnight.”

omg...I am so sorry for Ana.What happened to her.I think that main reason for these bad results is lack of confidence. If I look back I realize that her main power was brightness and confidence on the court. Both these stuffs simply disappeared in few months.Actually her decline has started after winning Roland Garros in 2008. Neveretheless I am sure Ana will be back soon.Ana is going to be always in the hearts of the Serbian people, and she will always get their big support and from many other people from all over the world. Her forehand will work again.
I'm also really sorry for Ana. And I agree with you, it so obvious that she has no more confidence and I think it's the main reason for loosing matches. The problem is now that she is the only person who can solve the problem cause it's in her head and nobody can help her with that.
I really hope she'll find the way to deal with it and that we'll see again the "old" Ana.
