Venus Williams helped to kick-off the complimentary Manhattan-Queens "Powerade Zero" ferry service available during the US Open Tennis championship on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 in New York.
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony, she christened the water taxi that will shuttle people from Manhattan to Queens.
The ferry leaves from and returns to the East 35th Street Marina.
Fans will be dropped off at the World's Fair Marina and can catch a free bus to the Tennis Center.
"I love the U.S. Open," Williams said. "You know it's my big debut tournament when I was 17 and getting to the finals. So it's always had a special place in the my heart. Also I'm looking forward to trying to win."
