Rafa defeats Nole, brings victory to Spain

Rafael Nadal sent Spain into the Davis Cup quarterfinals, by defeating Novak Djokovic 6-4 6-4 6-1 in just under two and a half hours, to set up a home tie against either Germany or Austria n the second round in July.

Rafa’s victory against Novak, extended his winning streak in davis Cup to 12 straight matches. His only loss in Davis Cup was on his first appearance five years ago, against Jiri Novak of the Czech Republic.

Spain has not lost a Davis Cup tie at home or on clay since 1999. Serbia lost in the first round for the second straight year and will play in the World Group playoff in September.
