Hi guys, I'm back! I'm not over yet with the changes on my Blog layout, still have some work to do, but I hope you like the new look of my page!
Now let's see what was happening last several days!
Amelie Mauresmo defeated Elena Dementieva 7-6 (9/7), 2-6, 6-4 in the final of the WTA Paris Open on Sunday to capture her first title in two years.
"I was waiting for consecutive wins like this to prove that I'm capable of winning this kind of tournament," Mauresmo said.
"You look at the field here in Paris, with all the great players that were here, and I'm very happy and very proud about this week."
Congrats Amelie and welcome back!
Top seed Vera Zvonareva defeated Sania Mirza 7-5 6-1 to win the Pattaya Open final on Sunday.
"After I won the first set I really started to play my game and didn't give her a chance to play how she wanted to play," said Zvonareva.
"I'm really happy with the way I finished the match."
Andy Murray won the first ATP World Tour 500 tennis tournament of the season as he defeated an injured Rafael Nadal 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 in the final of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam on Sunday.
"Obviously it's not the way you want to win as I could see Rafa had an injury," said Murray. "I thought the first set was good quality and then at the start of the second, when I saw that he was injured, my concentration and level of play dipped. He made it difficult as he was hitting the ball so hard and being aggressive on every shot to try and keep the points short. It just shows how he good he is that he can beat me on one leg!"
Radek Stepanek defeated Mardy Fish 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 on Sunday at the SAP Open to clinch his second title of the 2009 ATP World Tour season.
"I started the season well in Brisbane, and I made two rounds at the Australian Open, so I came here with a lot of confidence with a lot of winning matches and it just paid off," said Stepanek. "I did very hard off-season practice. I believe in myself and I feel great physically. Now with five weeks in the bag, it’s definitely my best beginning to a year. This is great for me, and I’ll work hard to keep this level."
Tommy Robredo defeated Thomaz Bellucci 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the final of the Brasil Open, an ATP World Tour 250 tennis tournament in Costa do Sauipe to claime his eighth ATP World Tour title.
Robredo said: "It's wonderful to play tennis when the public is excited about the match and behind one of the players. Obviously, as long as it's respectful, as the public was tonight. Naturally the public was backing Thomaz tonight, but I was able to concentrate on what I needed to do.
"Although Thomaz was nervous at the beginning, this turned into a great match. He is a great player and plays well. He had opportunities and made some great shots, but luckily I was able to win and I'm very happy about it. This was a great way to end a fantastic week here in Brazil. I hope to return many times to Costa do Sauipe."
