The BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie-Jean King Cup Draw has been released and organizers determined the draw according to the 2008 year-end rankings.
The highest ranked player will play against the fourth-highest ranked player, and the No.2 will meet the No.3. So it means that JJ will play against Venus Williams, and Serena will play against Ana Ivanovic.
Both BNP Paribas Showdown semi-finals will be contested over one set with no-advantage scoring. The final will be played using traditional scoring, although a Super Tiebreak (first to 10 points) will take place instead of a regular third set if necessary. All three matches will take place on the same night, March 2, with play beginning at Madison Square Garden at 7.30pm.
"I’m very happy to be taking part in this exhibition. I think New York is a very special place and I’m very much looking forward to playing a match there. I heard a lot about Madison Square Garden as well, but I have never had the privilege to play there or visit until now. So I’m very much looking forward to that. I'm sure it’s going to be a very exciting event." said Ana Ivanovic.
