Jelena Dokic has continued her extraordinary return at Australian Open, defeating 11th seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 3-6 6-1 6-2 in the third round on Friday night.
"I feel stronger, this is so great," said Jelena.
"Losing the first set went in my favour, there were a couple of close games," she said, overcome with emotion. "I'm so happy with how I hung in there."
Dokic broke five times while losing her own serve twice.
"I got a break in the second set and things started to go my way," said the winner. "I felt really comfortable against her."
"I didn't think of the victory until the two match points. I just wanted to put in a good performance."
In an emotional on-court interview with former mentor and retired fellow player Alica Molik, Dokic added: "In the last few years of struggling with thing (she is estranged from her family) I think I've matured."
"Maybe it will work in my favour having a couple of tough years."
Dokic, who was born in former Yugoslavia, will next meet either Alisa Kleybanova who defeated Ana Ivanovic.
