Justine Henin to open Tennis Academy in Florida

Posted by Lana On 9/25/2008 12:39:00 PM

Former world No.1 Justine Henin and her lifelong coach, Carlos Rodríguez, opened their first 6th Sense Tennis Academy in Belgium almost a year ago, and now they will open their second at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Florida on September 27.

The Academy is located at the 1,000-acre Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, just 30 miles northwest of Orlando.

General Director of the Academy is Belgian tennis professional Alain De Vos, who has worked with Rodríguez for 21 years and trained former Top 20 players Meghann Shaughnessy and Anna-Lena Groenefeld under International Tennis USA.

The Academy will offer a proven, specific, differential philosophy with a team of coaches, including Rodríguez.

It has also been announced that renowned fitness trainer Pat Etcheberry will bring his acclaimed "Etcheberry Experience, Strength and Conditioning for Serious Sports" program to the Academy.

"I am looking forward to my association with the 6th Sense Tennis Academy because of my special relationship with Justine and Carlos," Etcheberry said. "Mission Inn Resort & Club is an ideal place to train and work with athletes."

"Our objective is to set up an optimal environment, both human and technical, to encourage an efficient development of each participant, as well as a professional training approach," Rodríguez said about the new 6th Sense Tennis Academy.

"We will maintain a spirit of fun and combine the teaching of tennis with human development in line with our core values: humility, willingness, respect, courage, self-control, autonomy and self-confidence," the 26-year-old Henin added.
