Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka beat Simon Aspelin and Thomas Johansson of Sweden 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3 and won Gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games!
Before Olympics they played only 4 times together and won only one match!
Federer closed the match with a service winner, threw up his arms and began hopping, then hugged his partner. This is Roger's first Olympic medal and second for Switzerland, Marc Rosset’s won gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
"Sort of a dream-come-true moment," Federer said. "Maybe it comes around once in a lifetime. It's almost disbelief, to some degree."
Earlier in the day, in a bronze medal match packed with Grand Slam champions, American top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan (pictured) edged out Frenchmen Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Olympic medal is the first for the Bryans, who have won all four Grand Slam championships and 48 tournament titles.
